Cucumbers - 6 weeks old |
Very thrilled to see my cucumber plants flowering this week. Seems like the recent hot dry weather agrees with them!
Cucumbers are relatively easy to grow but they do need plenty of space. I find that building a trellis of sort (yes, mine is rather crude looking) and 'training' the tendrils upwards is a practical way of getting around the space issue
Cucumbers generally produce male blossoms first and they do require pollination for the fruit to grow normally. Watch this space for the female blossoms!
Snapshot of them 3 weeks ago. See how they've sprouted!Labels: cucumbers, Gardening, growing from pots
